Are you missing teeth? One of the great things about living in the 21st century is that you no longer need to settle for gaps in your smile. Missing teeth can be a thing of the past. You have several different options when it comes to replacing them, like dentures in Edison. They can be lifechanging for people who are without most of or all of their teeth. While they are more advanced than ever before, they aren’t completely indestructible. Here are some signs that you may need to have them either relined, repaired, or replaced.

Your Dentures Are Loose

Your dentures would not be moving around or falling out of your mouth if they fit correctly. They should be staying in place whenever you chew and speak. If you notice that your dentures have become loose, this means that they aren’t quite as snug as they should be. You can temporarily use adhesives to help, but this is by no means a permanent solution. You should see your dentist in order to have them relined or replaced as soon as you can.

Speaking Is Becoming More Difficult

Typically, this is a sign that your dentures aren’t fitting as well as they should be. If you have found that you are slurring your words or mumbling more often than usual, you may need to have your dentures adjusted. Communication should be made more easily with dentures, not harder!

Your Dentures Are Uncomfortable

It may take some time to get used to your dentures right after you get them, but they shouldn’t be causing you any pain or discomfort. This could be a sign that they are damaged or aren’t fitting correctly. If you develop sores, lesions, or have noticed changes in your gum health, you should schedule an urgent appointment with your dentist. Together, you can get to the bottom of the issue so it can be resolved.

Your Dentures Are Damaged

As strong as dentures are these days, they are far from indestructible. If you find that there are cracks, chips, loose teeth, or missing teeth, you should see your dentist. You could have damaged them accidently, or they could have endured wear and tear over time. Your dentist will be able to determine whether or not the dentures can be repaired or if you will need new ones.

Your Dentures Are Stained

Discoloration can be avoided when you care for your dentures properly, but it can still happen over time. If this is something that is bothering you, it is a perfectly valid reason to want to have them replaced. You should address this concern with your dentist.

If you notice any of the issues listed above in relation to your dentures, bring them up to your dentist in Edison. You should be showing off a smile that makes you feel comfortable and confident!
