Our Dentist's

Steven J. Resnick, DDS, FAES

Dr. Steven Resnick graduated from New York University College of Dentistry. For his superior achievements, he was elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society, and was presented with the Mosby Scholarship Award. He completed an intensive general practice residency program at Goldwater Memorial Hospital in New York City. In addition to his residency, Dr. Resnick trained in oral surgery at Bellevue Hospital in New York City and in pediatric dentistry at the Rose Kennedy Center for Exceptional Children in the Bronx.

Dr. Resnick is an Associate Clinical Professor at the New York University College of Dentistry in the Department of Cariology and Comprehensive Care. He serves as a Group Practice Director within that department and as such, is responsible for the educational progress of his students as well as running a Dental Care Center comprised of over 50 students and over 15 faculty members. Dr. Resnick is a founder of the New York University College of Dentistry Program For Survivors of Torture, a program that provides comprehensive dental services for patients from all over the world who have been tortured by their governments and have come to America to seek political asylum. For his outstanding dedication and commitment to the student body, he has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the NYU student council four times and the Ira R. Studley Humanitarian Award. He has published articles on esthetic onlays and is currently researching tooth whitening systems and shade matching devices.

Dr. Resnick has presented his successful concepts in dental education for the past four years at the annual meeting of the American Dental Educators Association (ADEA).

For his advanced work in the field of root canal therapy, Dr. Resnick has been awarded the status of Fellowship in the American Endodontic Society. He is a Founding Member and a Fellowship Member of the International Dental Health Foundation, and has also served as its Chairman of the Board. Dr. Resnick has lectured nationally about the non-surgical treatment of gum disease, and his written explanations of the causes and available treatments for these diseases are found in dental offices across the country.

Dr. Resnick is also a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and has served on its Board of Directors. He is a Founding Member of the Association for Contemporary Dental Education and presently serves on its continuing education committee. He is also a Certified Clinical Researcher for the PEARL Network, a collaboration of academic researchers and experienced clinicians who have teamed together to gather data and uncover scientific truths pertaining to many of the current controversies in dentistry.

Dr. Resnick is a product evaluator and consultant to major dental manufacturing companies in the fields of restorative and cosmetic dentistry and periodontics. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association the American Dental Educators Association, and the New Jersey Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped. His membership in the American Academy of Sports Dentistry allows Dr. Resnick to merge his passions for both athletics and dentistry, and involves him in the prevention and treatment of sports-related oral and dental injuries.

Dr. Resnick and his wife Sherrie have three children, A.J., Alison, and Jillian and are the proud grandparents of Sadie Rose and Charlotte Pearl.


David S. Rosenfeld, DDS

Dr. David Rosenfeld graduated from the Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in New York City. He completed a post-doctorate general practice residency at The Jamaica Hospital and Medical Center in Queens, New York. For his superior achievements, Dr. Rosenfeld was selected to serve as the Chief Dental Resident in the year following his general residency program. During that time, Dr. Rosenfeld not only completed advanced training in the fields of cosmetic dentistry, oral pathology, and pediatric dentistry, but also helped found and develop the oral implantology program at the hospital. He served as a clinical instructor at the hospital before devoting himself to the private practice of dentistry.

For Dr. Rosenfeld’s advanced training in the fields of dental implants and implant prosthetics, he was awarded the status of Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantology. Dr. Rosenfeld is a member of The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He regularly attends national meetings in both, implant and cosmetic dentistry. With his passion for combining cosmetic, implant, and restorative dentistry in a caring, compassionate manner, Dr. Rosenfeld has enhanced many smiles and given patients a new positive appearance over his career. Being a member of the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped, he donates time and services treating special needs individuals whom have little or no access to dentistry.

Dr. Rosenfeld is a certified preferred provider Invisalign dentist with years of experience. He is able to straighten, align, and beautify smiles without unsightly braces.

Dr. Rosenfeld has been recognized by the New Jersey Dental Association for volunteering time to “Give Kids a Smile” program and has been voted one of “NJ’s Favorite Kids’ Docs” by New Jersey Family Magazine. He currently is a member of the American Academy of Oral Implantology, American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Rosenfeld is an accomplished guitarist, and his band regular plays local venues. He also is involved with customizing cars. Dr. Rosenfeld and his wife Karen have two children Eve and Daniel.


Reuben Atlas, DDS

Dr. Reuben Atlas graduated from New York University College of Dentistry where he excelled in Comprehensive Dental Care and received Honors in Endodontics (Root Canal Therapy). He completed a General Practice Residency within the NJ VA healthcare system on the Lyons campus where he received advanced training in restorative dentistry and prosthodontics. Dr. Atlas is certified in Invisalign and uses it to restore smiles quickly and without the use of unsightly orthodontic braces.

Dr. Atlas enjoys providing dental care in underserved areas where dental treatment is lacking. He has served on mission trips in Guatemala and throughout New York City. Dr. Atlas is a member of the American Dental Association and the New Jersey Dental Association.

Dr. Atlas enjoys skiing, chess, playing basketball and cooking. He is an avid reader and loves crossword puzzles. He and his wife, Rachel, have two boys.

Irene Dougherty, Business Manager

Irene Dougherty has been an employee of Resnick & Rosenfeld for the last 30 years. She holds a B.S. degree in Management Science. As the Business Manager, Irene see to it that all activities are coordinated so that the patient experiences a totally positive and relaxing visit. She also takes care of the daily business operations. Irene’s love for life and her joyous personality are truly representative of our office. When not a work, Irene devotes her time to her husband and four wonderful children.


Robin Levine, Dental Hygienist

Robin earned her degree from Middlesex County College and has over 40 years if dental and periodontal experience. She has been treating periodontal disease with the microscopically monitored, non-surgical, anti-infective technique in this office for over 30 years. As a registered dental hygienist, her years of experience in anti-infective therapy have allowed her to become a brilliant co-diagnostician of periodontal disease and a true authority on the ramifications of various types of therapy. Robin is certified in the use of Nitrous Oxide as an aid in relaxing her patients. In her spare time, Robin loves to travel and spend time with her family. She and her husband have two wonderful sons and are the proud grandparents of a little girl.


Danielle Sacco, Dental Hygienist

Danielle earned her degree from Middlesex County College in 2012 and was awarded “Professional Excellence in Chair Side Education,” from Johnson & Johnson. She has worked in the dental field for 10 years, as an assistant in an orthodontic office, and as a dental hygienist for the last 5 years. She enjoys treating children, special needs patients, periodontally compromised patients, and adults. Danielle is certified in administering local anesthesia and nitrous oxide. She continues to learn and use new techniques in dentistry such as monitoring bacteria using a microscope, using intra-oral cameras for diagnostic purposes, and helping patients achieve white smiles with “Zoom” Whitening. She takes pride and great care in educating all patients on the proper home care for their dental needs, by creating a customized dental health program with each patient. In her spare time, Danielle likes to go to the gym, walk her long-haired Chihuahua, Taco, and spend time with family and friends.


Soly, Dental Assistant

Soly graduated from Middlesex County College in 1991. For her excellence in her field and for her exceptional technical ability, Soly has been awarded the titles Certified Dental Assistant (1994) and Registered Dental Assistant (1995). She assisted in the oral surgical and periodontal surgical fields for five years before joining our team. In addition to her tremendous technical talents, Soly's kind, caring nature is appreciated by all of our patients.


Kimberly DaCunha, Dental Assistant

Kimberly is currently attending Middlesex County College pursuing a degree in early childhood education. She has been involved in many aspects of the office since 2003. Her talents enable her to both assist patients in scheduling appointments as well as patient care, especially pediatric care. Kimberly resides in Colonia, N.J. and spends her free time at the jersey shore as well as enjoying her family , music, and dancing.

Patti has been part of the Resnick & Rosenfeld team for over 10 years and is generally the first smiling face you’ll see when you enter our office or the first happy voice you’ll hear when you call. She enjoys welcoming new patients and learning about their specific dental needs and goals. Patti’s extensive training in patient care enables her to discuss treatment plans, and coordinate insurance benefits and payment options to insure that the health and beauty you desire is affordable. A dedicated wife and mother, Patti translates those skills and insures that all of our patients feel like family.


Anita Wells, Receptionist

Anita has been an integral part of our office for over 30 years. Her talents enable her to act as a dental assistant as well as a receptionist. She earned a degree in Dental Assisting from Union County College. As a receptionist, it is Anita's responsibility to make patients feel at home in our office, and help them schedule convenient times to care for their health and dental needs. Anita's kind, caring manner allows her to fulfill this responsibility in a superior manner. Her lengthy experience as a dental assistant has provided Anita with a unique perspective of what is involved in planning and completing comprehensive patient care, a perspective that she is able to use for all our patients' benefit. Anita resides in Union County with her husband, and her two daughters. She enjoys reading and travelling.
